IF YOU WANNA GO WAY BACK...
2007 | Begin Freelancing. I have a BFA in Graphic Design and Double Minor in Marketing and Art History from Kennesaw State University (Go Owls!). I began freelancing while in college helping out local small business and non-profits.
2008 | Launch a Non-Profit. In college, a handful of friends launched a non-profit called Social 360, a networking opportunity for college kids to get experience all while increasing awareness for local non-profits. Artists could get experience helping rebrand a non-profit. Marketing and business majors used these small NPO's as excellent resume builders. Everyone wins. Social 360 stayed strong for almost 6 years but after much debate, my business boo, Molly and I shut her down and decided to move on in our careers. The recession hit hard for most non-profits.
2010 | Tech Startup to Corporate Life. In 2010, I took a Creative Director position with a digital media startup, Lift Retail, in Atlanta's tech incubator, ATDC. In 2012 Lift Retail was acquired by Verifone and I worked for them until 2017 (while still growing a successful freelance business). At Verifone Media, I was responsible for the creation and execution of brand strategies for multibillion dollar brands in the petroleum space. I also lead the UI/UX implementation of the in-store digital media platform. I was able to teach some of the top consumer packaged good brands in the world how to leverage shopper activation tactics in the digital media space. Not too shabby of a gig.
2016 | A big decision. I learned in 2016 about an upcoming acquisition for our company. I could not mentally handle it again since multiple media acquisitions had occurred during my career at Verifone. I was offered my dream job, it was everything I had been working towards in my corporate role…being responsible for innovation for a top tier company in their industry. But I’d have to move across the country. I had just had my little girl. My husband had just started his real estate business in Atlanta. It was serious money. A serious role. I was already a road warrior (traveling on average 3x a month) and I knew this meant even more travel. LIFT was my baby before I had a baby. But I had given it all I could and honestly just needed to step back and asses what and who I wanted to work for.
2017 | Full time freelance. I knew I needed a major life change after the multiple acquisitions at Verifone. So I went full time freelance and have been doing so ever since as a full service creative studio, managing a team of 5 US freelancers and 1 in Europe.
“One of the best choices I made when starting LiftRetail was hiring Angie. She was in charge of creative for all marketing needs and as well as delivery of custom marketing collateral for our advertising and retailer partners. As LiftRetail grew, Angie proved equally ready to lead growing client interfacing execution teams as she was at helping bootstrap a startup. Her hard work has resulted in the on time delivery of customized digital marketing materials for over 2000 retail sites every 30 days. She has worked closely with top brands and agencies to deliver innovative ad campaigns on top of our LiftRetail advertising platform and always represents the needs of our advertisers and partners with diligence and integrity. She earns he title, "Queen of Creative" every day with a smile on her face and is an amazing asset to any organization lucky enough to work with her.”
